5 Things you look for when buying Pallet Racking
1. AS4084-1993 Tested -- this is the Australian and New Zealand standard for pallet racking. If the racking you have is tested, installed & maintained to this standard you have nothing to worry about when Worksafe come knocking. Unirack racking is tested ... click here to see the certificate from Monash University.
2. Strong Components with no Compromises & Believable Load Capacities -- many companies will make you believe that there is no difference between beams. And you see some interesting claims about the load capacities of beams that defy the laws of physics. We standardise on a beam with a 100mm profile (others use 80mm) and 4 hooker beams (not 3). This gives a higher & believable load capacity of 2082kg.
3. Dexion Compatible -- it is good planning to have a system that will work with other systems. Our beams and uprights use the same shape connectors as Dexion. If you already have some Dexion racking, then ours will slot right in.
4. Access to Excellent Planning & Safety Advice -- if you're not sure how to get the most storage space in your warehouse, you should ring us. We've done this sort of thing for a long time now. We can show you how to fit it all in and lay it all out so your stock, your employees and your forklift don't have a hard time living together!
5. Stock Availability & Price -- our accountants tell us that we are mad keeping as much stock as we do. Luckily for you, we don't really listen to our accountant much. If you've got a warehouse, you want it done quickly and at a good price. We keep large quantities of our most common items in stock in all 5 of our locations. And we price it so it doesn't stay there long. We guarantee you wont find a cheaper price for the same quality anywhere in Australia.
What this adds up to -- your warehouse fixed up quickly with racking that is strong, legal, cheaper -- and sold by friendly, knowledgeable people.

Longspan shelving is our mid-range storage solution. Designed for fitting into squeezy spots and for holding boxes, parts or anything that is reasonably heavy. It still holds impressive weights of up to 650kg per shelf (and 4 tonnes per bay). And we hold so many sizes that we challenge you to find a space we can't fit out to within 20cm.
The pricing tables and the planning guide below should get you started. For a simple start -- there are just 3 questions to answer:
1. How high (2000mm or 2500mm) -- most popular is 2000mm
2. How long (1200, 1500, 1800, 2000, or 2400) -- most popular is 2000mm or 2400mm
3. How many shelves (3, 4 or 5) -- most popular is 4 shelves
Having problems? You're not alone.
Give us a call and we'll run you through it.

LONGSPAN PLANNING GUIDE
Step 1: Work out how high you want your shelves to go. We have 2 heights of 2000mm or 2500mm. You can put the shelves right at the top, so even if your ceiling height is 2500mm you would generally still only need to use 2000mm high uprights.
Step 2: Work out how long a space you have and what length beams to use. You want to know what length each shelf should be but there is a trick for young players. You have to allow 55mm for each of the uprights. Say you have 2000mm of space. You'll need to use 1800mm beams (not the 2000mm), because you need to allow for 110mm of uprights. This sounds utterly confusing, but just call and give us your total available length and we can advise.
Step 3: Work out how deep you want your shelves to be. 400mm, 600mm or 800mm are the sizes. Vast majority of people go for 600mm as 400mm is too narrow and doesn't cost much less. 800mm is great and will store a lot, but you have to be careful you don't overload the middle.
Step 4: Work out how many levels. You can have as many levels as you can fit in. Most people will use 4 levels for 2000mm high and 5 levels for 2500mm high. This gives you about 500mm of height per shelf to stack things on. Other people choose to leave the bottom level empty and just stack boxes on the floor -- a sensible and economical solution.
Step 5: Check out the table above to work out the price. Get your first bay price, then if you want to add more, add your extra bay. If you want an extra shelf (i.e go from 4 to 5 shelves), then look to the end column. All prices include the particle board, beams and completed uprights.

5 Reasons Why Our Longpsan is Great &
WHY You Should Buy it from Us!
1. The Quality is Terrific -- it is really strong, the steel is top quality, the powder coating is superior to competing systems, the base plates are thick.
2. It All Clicks Together -- the only parts that need putting together are the upright frames. It's a bit of a hassle but we do it for you, so all you need to do is slot the horizontal beams into the uprights and pop in the particle board.
3. It's So Modular -- we have the biggest range of beam lengths in the country, so we can fit out 99% of space so you can cram the available space with shelves. Need another level of shelves? Easy. Need to add another small length? Easier!
4. Superior Particle Board -- we use an 18mm thick board which has a water-resistant coating. Reason: 18mm will hold greater loads than competing 16mm systems and if you spill something on it, just wipe the beaded water off with a cloth.
5. Price -- while our system has superior features, we don't rip you off on price. We don't shove the GST on at the end to surpise you. And if you find a cheaper price on similar quality products we'll beat it.
COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT LONGSPAN
How does longspan go together?
The same as pallet racking. We put the uprights together so all you have to do is lock the horizontal beams into the uprights at whatever height you want. Then place the board in. Done. The beams have an 18mm cutout along the length. It holds the particle board in tight without any compromise on strength. No screws required.
What does the load capacity mean in the table on the left?
The load capacity is how much each shelf can take before it will buckle or bend. Our longpsan is super strong. An 1800mm shelf will take 530kg per shelf -- that's about 44 cases of wine or 6 reasonably large people. So if you have 4 shelves, you could have 24 people lying on your shelves and the shelves wouldn't budge but you may have a few irritated people!
Do you have other shelving options other than particle board?
Yes, we've got wire shelving and galvanised sheet shelving that just slot into the shelf grooves. Good for wet areas or coolrooms. More expensive of course, but not that much more. Ring for an exact quote.
Do I need any tools to put it together?
No. We do all the assembly for you -- you just slot it together.
Do I need to dynabolt longspan to the floor?
Generally, no. But if you store heavy things at the top and nothing at the bottom, then it might be a good idea. Less than 1% of our customers dyanbolt the uprights in but holes are there if you need to.
Do you supply safety locks for each shelf and what do they do?
Yes, each beam comes with a squiggly piece of metal that connects the beam to the uprights. It is not meant to be a tight fit -- it simply stops the beam from accidentally being jogged out of position. This is good if for some reason you don't have much on the shelf.
Why is this so complicated and why can't you explain it more clearly?
It sounds worse than it is. Just measure up the total length you want to shelve and leave it to us. You can scratch a basic floor plan on the back of a piece of toilet paper and we can work it out pretty fast. We'll then confirm everything has been calculated correctly and price it up for you. If you make a mistake, don't worry -- we'll sort it out.
Do you give discounts for large orders?
Yes. If you've got a big place to fill then we'll sharpen the pencil!
Example: You have 4200mm of space and your staff can only reach up to 2000mm high without getting dizzy. 600mm deep is a good fit with what you want to store. And 4 shelves is fine.
Solution: You have 4200mm of space so you'll need more than 1 bay. Get 1 "First Bay" of 2020-6 for $344 and an "Extra Bay" of the same for $304. Total: $648 inc GST. We assemble the uprights! |

if you want that sophisticated look.

• Shelves lock in anywhere along the post.
• Extra shelves are available for 25% of the total package price.
• Castors available - $40.00 per set of 4.

COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT WIRE SHELVES
How are these shelves made? Should I get chrome or epoxy?
These shelves are made of steel, then dipped in either chrome or an epoxy resin. Chrome looks absolutely fantastic but is a little more expensive. A reflective silver surface that reflects light and gives off an aura of sophistication, so they are commonly used in retail areas where they need to look good. The epoxy resin is like a rubberised surface. That makes them highly water resistant. So they are excellent for coolrooms or refrigerated environments. And they are also cheaper.
How do you put them together? Can I put the shelves at any height?
Each shelf comes with 4 clips. Simply snap lock them onto the grooves on the upright posts. Slide the shelf over the post until they hit the clip, apply a bit of pressure and the shelf is locked in place.
You can put the shelves anywhere along the upright at any height.
Can I buy extra shelves?
Yes, but 96% of people don't as 4 is generally a good number for an 1800mm high post. If you want extras, they are 25% of the total price of a set.
What if I have an uneven floor?
Each post has a small adjustable foot. Simply screw it out to level your shelves on an uneven floor.
What are the load capacities of wire shelving?
Don't put more than 100kg per shelf. If you need higher capacities, then go for longspan shelving above. |

Our pallet trolleys are super robust. They have double polyurethane wheels front and rear and a big 2500kg lifting capacity. We've upgraded the specification so you get a durable, reliable and comfortable trolley for only a little more than a crappy one. Here are the differences:
1. Double Polyurethane Wheels -- single wheels are unstable and plastic or nylon wheels break under strain. Ours are strong and ensure a smooth ride.
2. Solid Single-Cast Hydraulic Housing -- cheaper pallet jacks have welded housings which have a tendency to leak or crack.
3. Glide Wheel -- we have a small glide wheel on the front of each fork that helps the jack mount the pallet more easily.
4. Tested to CE, TUV and GS European Standards -- no problems there!
5. Three-Position Operating Lever -- no need to maintain an uncomfortable grip while you're dragging heavy loads around.
6. Comfortable Handle -- Extra padding on the handle. A thoughtful inclusion to make using the jack more comfortable.
7. Lowered Fork Height of 75mm -- this is good for picking up non-standard pallets which is a suprisingly common problem.
